Say what?

Used to be a silver mine. Now an interesting museum.

Update

So today is Sunday and I am going to catch up on the last couple of days. Friday we rode from McCall to Boise. Since it was a short day we decided to go by way of Lowman. The road from Lowman to Boise is a twisty mountain pass and was a great ride. That was the day of our dinner in Idaho City Stayed at the Super 8 and got laundry done.
The next day (Saturday) we retraced the route from Boise to Lowman but at Lowman we rode east to Stanley. I was surprised how many near empty campsites there were. In Stanley we had an espresso milkshake made by hippies. From there we went to Challis and stayed at the worst place ever. It was so bad that I named it the Bates motel. The curtains were literally rotting off the rods and the towels had holes.
Today we saw the craters of the moon national monument. It is a very weird place that I could never do justice to in words. When we are at a computer and can get the photos off Trish's camera we will share them. Today we are staying in a nice motel in Arco. The town's one claim to fame is being the first "city" in the world to be powered by atomic energy. There are several atomic labs / sites in the desert outside of town. We will be going that way tomorrow but we have a long drive to Yellowstone and I don't care about it enough to make a side trip. I don't think there is cell or wi fi in Yellowstone so it may be a few days till my next post.

I need to talk to the mayor about these weeds around my sign

The porch

Stopped in and had dinner at the local place in Idaho City

Idaho City

Barely deserves the moniker "city" but the folks are nice. A thunderstorm came through while we were stopped here so we stayed for supper. They even let me push my bike onto the porch until the storm was done.

McCall

Stayed in a "rustic" bungalow in scenic McCall ID. Pretty place but to expensive for me. Leave it to the rich kids.

They love me …

They named a town after me!
